Even with GOP Senate Takeover, Education Plan Could Stall

Senator Lamar Alexander   has a plan to overhaul the education system if he becomes chairman of the Senate's education committee next year, starting with rewriting the divisive No Child Left Behind act and moving to create more school  vouchers and deregulate higher education soon after. But his plans could go nowhere.

Washington Facts: STEM Edition

James M. Anderson, M.D., Ph.D. is Director of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Division of Program Coordination Planning and Strategic Initiatives (DPCPSI). He makes it clear that what he's about to say is his own personal opinion. "When I look at what NIH could offer here [relating to science technology engineering and math (STEM)] NIH has thousands of institutions that it funds; hundreds of thousands of people are funded by NIH to do research; and it is all over the country."

Sagan's Quest - A Robot's Journey to the MoonThe Earthrise Space Foundation is all about Science, Technology, Engineering, & Math (STEM) outreach and we want to promote STEM education using Sagan. Sagan has been designed so that while we prepare him for his trip to the moon he can teach students of all ages in the topics of robotics, space, and engineering.
