A weekend of hands-on science for educators, class trips and families!

There's no better time to bring your class to visit miSci than during the
Science Festival of the Capital Region . For the cost of a regular field trip, students are able to explore special activities and demonstrations by the New York State Museum, San Francisco Exploratorium, National Weather Service, and dozens of other STEM organizations from throughout the Capital Region! 

Students will enjoy a special Exploratorium presentation, plus live readings from the  Authors' Corner, featuring  Steven "the Dirtmeister" Tomeck Alison Formento a nd many more... Remind your students to bring some cash to purchase books signed by their favorite authors! 

Bring your class to miSci on Nov. 10th for a jam-packed day of STEM fun! 

Funding Opportunities for Your ClassroomFunding
APPLY NOW: Grants for class trips, activities, and outreaches 

There are many online opportunities to get funding for your classroom, whether it's for a field trip to miSci or a classroom project or lesson. 

Below are several funding opportunities, including two that have October 1 deadlines! Many of these opportunities have an online application process, which typically requires that you register with a username and a password. 

Interested in pursuing more funding opportunities for your classroom or school? miSci offers grant writing workshops either at your school or our science center. If you are interested, please contact us at info@misci.org

Target Field Trip Grants - due 10/1!
Deadline October 1st before 1 PM EST!

Target gives small Field Trip Grants for up to $700 to K-12 schools nationwide. Grant applications will be accepted until 1 PM EST on 10/1/16.

Toshiba American Foundation Classroom Grants -  due 10/1!
Deadline October 1st for grades K-5, ongoing for grades 6-12

The Toshiba American Foundation awards teachers up to $1,000 for K-5 science and math classroom activities. Applications are online and must be submitted by October 1st.

Grants for grades 6-12 are up to $4,999 and can be submitted at any time.

Donors Choose Classroom Grants 
Applications always accepted

Donors Choose provides small classroom grants for various projects. You can register your classroom online and get your project funded.  

Hint: including photos will help your application -- you are asking strangers for help, so it's best to make your application clear and compelling (visuals help!).

miSci's Powering the Future: The STEM Fund  

miSci offers limited admission and transportation assistance for field trips to qualifying schools. 


miSci's programs are BOCES aid-able, to the extent that your contract allows. Please consult your building principal or your district's Business Office for more information. miSci's BOCES ID is 1546E.

World Space Week @ miSci: October 4-10, 2016WSW
$100 off Challenger Learning Center Missions for School Groups

Celebrate  World Space Week  at miSci, with special astronomy activities in the Challenger Learning Center, Dudley Observatory and Suits-Bueche Planetarium. 

On October 4-7, school groups can book a mission in the Challenger Learning Center with a  $100 discount ! Visit miSci.org for information on mission scenarios and booking.
