Counseling Alumni Reunion | | 50th Anniversary Celebration | |
Join in the celebration activities to recognize the 50th Anniversary of the Counseling and College Student Personnel Department. Activities begin with the Shirley Hess Hike for Healing, a 5 mile hike that begins at 10am. Later in the evening, a formal celebration will be held from 5 - 9pm in the SU Conference Center. Zach Zulli, junior quarterback, receives the 2012 Harlon Hill Trophy as Division II Football's Top Player.
Division II's equivalent to the Heisman Trophy, Zulli is the first SU player to receive this prestigious national honor. "I never would have ex pected this. This is really incredible, but I share this award with all of my teammates," said Zulli - who is only the seventh underclassman to ever win the Hill Trophy. "Nothing feels better than this."
Coach Mac named AFCA Division II Coach of the Year
Mark 'Mac' Maciejewski '92-'96M was named the 2012 AFCA Division II Region 1 Coach of the Year. Maciejewski, in his second season as head football coach, guided the Red Raider 11-2 team to the second round of the NCAA playoffs. Coach Mac was also named a finalist for the Liberty Mutual Coach of the Year award. Fan voting ends today. Voting is thru twitter only and counts for 20% of their vote. Coach Mac currently leads the Division II finalists in fan voting by almost 800 votes! Each winner receives $50,000 to donate to charity, and a $20,000 grant to donate to their school's alumni association. The winner will be announced on January 7. |
Dorms scheduled for demolition McCune, Lackhove, and Kieffer set for January
McCune Hall will be the first dorm to be demolished in the new year. It is scheduled for demolition on January 7, 2013. Lackhove and Kieffer will follow on January 14. Later in the spring, Seavers Apartments and the Etter Health Center will also come down to make room for the next phase of new on-campus residences.
