On The Road To Rookwood Sat. Mar. 1st
Maria Longworth Storer and her husband, Bellamy, lived a portion of their lives with the Ursuline Sisters of Cincinnati.  One hundred years ago their generosity helped fund the building of the chapel and an addition used as their Cincinnati residence. Maria Longworth Storer founded the Rookwood Pottery Company in 1880, not only to bring the art of pottery to Cincinnati but also to provide a good wage to working women. We will celebrate Rookwood Pottery, recognized internationally as an example of fine art pottery, on Saturday, March 1st. Anita Ellis, Deputy Director for Curatorial Affairs, Cincinnati Art Museum, and Riley Humler of Humler & Nolan, 13-year Appraiser on Antiques Roadshow, will identify and describe your Rookwood treasures. (Limit of two pottery pieces)

Time: Saturday March 1, 2014, 10:00 am to 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm
