Adolescent Support Program
Vista del Mar Outpatient Services offers an Adolescent Intensive Outpatient Program, or IOP, designed to provide a concentrated, time-limited, comprehensive therapeutic environment for the treatment of mental health issues. The focus of our Adolescent IOP is to provide an encouraging environment, promoting healthy choices and self-awareness that leads to positive behavioral and emotional changes.

Vista's adolescent summer program offers support and treatment without the need for overnight stay.  This intermediate level of care offers a much needed treatment bridge between inpatient hospitalization and the traditional office outpatient setting. This service appeals to parents, clients, school counselors and other providers because of its ability to possibly prevent hospitalization as well as to supply a wide array of services in a relatively short period of time. In addition our team works collaboratively with the client's existing providers helping to ensure continuity of care and continued wellness.
Why Vista del Mar Outpatient
Our team of professionals offer individualized treatment plans specifically tailored to each client's unique needs.  Clients have access to a multidisciplinary team of experts that includes psychiatrists, registered nurses, and master’s-leveled therapists. Evidenced based curriculum provides clients with the opportunity to learn and develop tools for ongoing wellness and recovery.  Clients and families are also encouraged to consider themselves
part of the “treatment team.”

Groups meet three hours a day, three days a week, usually for an eight-week period. However, the length of stay may vary depending on a patient’s treatment plan. Enrollment is ongoing, allowing patients to enter the program at anytime.

Common reasons to seek outpatient treatment include:
  • Mood management
  • Dealing with anger effectively
  • Social skills, self awareness and self esteem
  • Healthy communication and boundaries
  • Relationships and support
  • Grief, loss and trauma resolution
  • Self injurious behaviors
  • Maintaining recovery and wellness
  • Goal setting and life skills
