NY's First Lady Joins SUS For Homeless Prevention Discussion

On May 18, First Lady of New York City  Chirlane McCray and DHS Commissioner
Gilbert Taylor held a roundtable for providers from Services for the UnderServed, Care for the Homeless, ICL, Project Renewal, and Turning Point. 

Following the discussion about DHS and mental health services, the guests took a tour of SUS' Blake Avenue shelter, in addition to the Auburn Shelter, and met with clients and staff at each facility.

Meet Deborah Wolfe, SUS' Newest Board Member

SUS is pleased to announce the appointment of Deborah Wolfe  to the Board of Directors!

 

Wolfe  is a partner at Frankfurt Kurnit Klein + Selz, PC in the Corporate & Finance Group. She advises on complex mergers and acquisitions, restructurings, private equity investments, joint ventures, and the structuring, formation, financing, operation and purchase and sale of assets and entities across many sectors, with particular focus on the media, entertainment and advertising industries.  READ MORE


NADSP Honors SUS & Collaborators With 'Moving Mountains Award' 

The National Alliance for Direct Support Professionals (NADSP) will honor the collaborative efforts of SUS, UCP-NYC and HeartShare Human Services with a 2015 Moving Mountains Awards, that will be given at this year's Reinventing Quality Conference. 

 

Six national organizations participated as judges in the contest which recognizes organizations using leading practices in direct support workforce development that result in improved outcomes for the people being supported. READ MORE
