UK Citizens living overseas - Deadline to Register to vote - 16th May 2016

   

We have been requested by the British Embassy in Lisbon to remind those eligible to vote in the forthcoming EU Referendum and living overseas that there is only a few days left to register to vote.

The EU Referendum on whether the UK should remain in or leave the EU will take place on 23rd June 2016. This is a vitally important day in determining the countries future, and therefore people are encouraged to vote.

UK nationals who have been registered to vote in the UK within the last 15 years can register as an overseas elector, to be able to vote in UK Parliamentary General Elections, UK-wide referenda, and European Parliamentary elections. If you have not been registered to vote in the UK for more than 15 years, you are not eligible to vote in the EU referendum.

Ballot papers will be posted out between 23rd and 27trh May; your ballot paper must arrive back in the UK by 10pm (22.00hrs) on 23rd June to be counted in the EU Referendum
