Safe2Tell Colorado provides students and adults in Colorado communities and schools an increased ability to both prevent and report violence and other concerning behaviors by making a safe, ANONYMOUS report.   Through education and awareness efforts, Safe2Tell Colorado encourages and empowers bystanders to speak up when they have a concern about  their safety or the safety of others.  
February is  Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month
February is National Teen Dating Violence Awareness month to protect teens from violence and raise awareness. 

According to “loveisrespect,” a project of the National Domestic Violence Hotline and Break the Cycle, nearly 1.5 million high school students nationwide experience physical abuse from a dating partner in a single year. (1)    Additionally,  1 in 3 girls in the US is a victim of physical, emotional or verbal abuse from a dating partner, a figure that far exceeds rates of other types of youth violence. (2)

Safe2Tell is a resource for those who are experiencing or witnessing dating or domestic violence. Remind students that if they know of a friend who is being a victim of dating or domestic violence they can make an anonymous report to Safe2Tell Colorado online , by mobile app or by calling 1-877-542-7233.

Spots Still Available for Front Range Middle Schools
Limited number of spots are still available for  Colorado Front Range middle schools to participate in efforts to update and expand the Safe Communities~Safe Schools (SCSS) Model Grant Program.  

Eligibility requirements include: support from school leadership, willingness to participate as intervention or control group, implementation of annual school climate surveys, participation in two 1.5 day trainings per year, and participation in interviews, classroom observations and feedback surveys.


Participating Schools will Receive:
  • Intensive training, coaching and technical assistance
  • Comprehensive school climate data and student-level screening and assessment tools
  • Tools and resources around monitoring school climate and safety
  • Social emotional learning strategies for staff and students
  • Training and materials for one Blueprints for Healthy Youth Development program
  • The opportunity to participate in a Community with other schools and districts
  • $1,000 stipend for years in the control group
