Recently there were significant rumors regarding a threat of violence at Belvidere North High School. The rumors started at the school, and spread throughout student and adults circles. We are grateful for the many adults and students, out of safety concerns, who communicated to school officials what they had heard. In response to the incident, please take a few minutes to read about how we keep students and staff safe on a daily basis.
I also want to extend my gratitude to the first responders from the Boone County Sheriff's department and Fire Department #2 for their excellence and high quality response to the bus accident that happened recently. Although multiple students were taken to the hospital, I believe we were blessed to not have a worse outcome. The bus driver did a great job taking care of our children, and the students couldn't have reacted better.
