Early Adopters for the Family Scouting Program
(the inclusion of girls in Cub Scouts)

With 2018 comes a new year to shoot for the stars and to change. To our Cubmasters, Committee Chairmen, Chartered Organization Representatives, and Executive Officers; we thank you for your valuable partnership and commitment. As of January 15th, 2018, the BSA will be allowing girls into approved Packs.

To show interest in becoming an early adopter, please complete this  survey.

Council Annual Dinner
& Eagle Scout Recognition

Save the date this April 24th for the Sagamore Council's Annual Dinner! The Silver Beaver award is the highest council level distinguished service award of the Boy Scouts of America, join us in honoring those who have gone above and beyond!

Silver Beaver Award Nomination forms are due to the Council Office by February 15, 2018!

Save the date for the Spring Semester of University of scouting at IUK, March 17th! Cost will be 14 dollars per person, lunch included.

Come and participate in your districts Pinewood Derby April 21st! Open to all scouts, join in the fun by building and racing against others! Cost of admission is $5.00 per person. There will be multiple races throughout the day! Make sure to check out and sign up for your districts race!

Spring Camporee

Don't forget to save the date for the Spring Camporee, April 27th-29th! Make sure to get your scouts registered here as soon as possible! Remember that the Early Bird price is $120.00 and the cutoff date is April 1st, 2018. After April 1st the price will be $18.00.

Intro to Outdoor Leader Skills

We have an Intro to Outdoor Leader skills coming up on April 27-29 at   Camp Buffalo, Sagamore Council . We are looking for a few experienced leaders available to host this training. Please respond if you have a desire to help out. We don’t want to open registration until we secure some trainers.
Boy Scout Summer Camp

Save the date for Cub Scout Day Camp! We have four camps to choose from, each one on a different week.

June 5 - 8 : Cass County 4H Fairgrounds
June 19 - 22 : Jackson Morrow Park
June 26 - 29 : Jasper County 4H Fairgrounds
July 24 - 27 : Cary Camp
Registration will open by March 1.
NYLT

Every Youth Deserves a Trained Leader!

Are you trained for your position as a Scout leader? Anyone having direct contact with a Scout should make the time to train for their specific position. This training ensures the safety of both adult and scout and provides the opportunity for leaders to deliver a quality program. Experience and desire to be a leader are admirable qualities. Add to that the specific training and you will take your skills to a new level. To learn what training is specific to your position, visit http://my.scouting.org, click on training, your specific area.

Our team is expanding! The Sagamore council has three positions available and we are looking for candidates that embody the value of the BSA and are willing to go the distance in making sure that our scouts receive the best experience they can. We are looking for two District Executives, one for Lafayette and one for Kokomo, as well as a Trading Post Manager.
