SAGE COMIC RELIEF

Anxiety can be induced by many factors; separation, performance demands and family conflict are some common triggers for anxiety in adolescents. A certain amount of anxiety is normal, and even helpful (e.g., when you miss a deadline, a little anxiety will help you not miss the next one!) However, when anxiety manifests in one or more of the following ways, therapeutic intervention must be considered.

Some symptoms to look out for:
  • School avoidance/refusal
  • Sleep issues
  • Irrational fears
  • Self-consciousness
  • Panic attacks
  • Compulsive behavior
Many of our Sage Day students come to us with one or more of these symptoms of anxiety. However, because our students participate in intensive individual, group and family therapy, they learn to cope more effectively with anxiety and are able to reduce and even eliminate symptoms and behaviors that interfere with healthy functioning.

SAGE DAY BOONTON
December is a time for self- expression, self-reflection and thinking
about others here at Sage Day in Boonton.

Students have been involved in creating self-portraits that reflect what they look like to the outside world and who they are on the inside. Students will also be expressing themselves musically when they go holiday caroling at the New Jersey Firemen's Retirement Home in Boonton on December 17th.

SAGE DAY ROCHELLE PARK

We have our annual trip to the Dellridge Nursing Home in Paramus. About 25 of our students will be going to sing holiday songs to the residents of the home.

This year, we will also have a special Christmas dance performed by some of our Rochelle Park Staff to a holiday favorite, Felix Navidad.

SAGE DAY MAHWAH

Friday, December 18th is our skating trip to Mennan Arena in Morristown, NJ.  The cost of the trip is $20 which includes skating and skate rental.

There is an arcade there and students can purchase lunch at the snack bar.
