Students who suffer from eating disorders require the right balance of professional and family support. Eating disorders can be a result of low self-esteem, depression and a way of calling out for help. As the cartoon suggests, the person in the throes of an eating disorder may see the eating disorder as the only path to achieving something that is out of reach. This makes it even harder for the person to consider a healthier approach to eating. An untreated eating disorder can become dangerous, even life threatening. It is therefore important to recognize the symptoms of an eating disorder and provide appropriate support and intervention as soon as possible.
At the Rochelle Park campus, our advisory groups will be involved in special activities throughout the day commemorating the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
SAGE DAY MAHWAH
The 2nd annual therapist suite decorating contest was a "sweet" success. The therapist and their "elves" worked hard to create an original and unique room theme. We had a Candy Land scene and the North Pole. The students voted on the best rooms and the North Pole won by a thread.
