News From the Principal

Dear Saint Jeanne de Lestonnac School Families,
As always, so many wonderful activities have taken place since our last newsletter which is a sign of a thriving school community.
Since our last contact, the school hosted a fabulous Spring Open House Fish Fry/Science Fair Evening!  Thank you to the Landeros Family who provided the delicious meal from their local restaurant, Los Ranchitos in Temecula.  We hope that you enjoyed viewing the student's work samples as well as celebrating the joy of community for this annual event.
The Campus Ministry program (Magis Ministry), was very active these past few months with the CRS Rice Bowl opportunity, as well as serving at Saint Martha's annual children's Easter Celebration and Temecula's Reality Rally.  Most recently, we thank the Corlee family who introduced the "Make a Wish Foundation" shoe donation project to benefit needy children in other countries.  Last week's presentation introduced the school to opportunities to possibly sponsor Make a Wish recipients such as alumnus Ciara Mondragon and fifth grade student Daleigh Corlee.  Please be sure to bring in any and all gently used sneakers in the front office.
Saint Jeanne de Lestonnac School extends a special thank you to Mr. Scott Hermann who has made a significant contribution to our Athletic Program to start a Track and Field Team!  He has not only donated equipment, but has also volunteered to coach our students to prepare them for two upcoming Track and Field competitions in the area!  The Hands Family and the Ortiz Family both donated their time and talents toward preparing our long jump pit with sand!  Thank you so much to Mrs. Bendykowski, Mrs. Livingston, Mr. Hermann, and Hands and Ortiz family for all of your dedication and contributions toward this exciting program!
I'd like to close the newsletter with this beautiful letter from Mrs. Castro, the parent of two Saint Jeanne's graduates.     In today's overall society/culture of criticism, and negative/fake news....this really meant so much to our faculty and staff! We can't wait to begin our 25th year anniversary with our alumni and Saint Jeanne's families in the coming school year!

March 22, 2017
Dear Sister Ernestine and Mrs. Mora,

You may or may not remember me, but my two children, Julia and Dean Castro are graduates of St. Jeanne's (class of 2013 and 2016 respectively).  Julia is finishing up her senior year of high school and enjoying the flood of college offers, while Dean is adjusting well to a whole new school experience.
While I could go on and on... and on talking about their happenings and accomplishments, the purpose of this letter is meant to be about St. Jeanne's and what it has meant to the three of us.  You see, in observance of Lent this year, I decided it would be a nice idea to write a note of thanks to individuals important to me.  More specifically, I wanted to express my gratitude to those who made a difference in Julia and Dean's lives, helping them become the wonderful individuals they are today.  With that focus in mind, it is clear that  Saint Jeanne's - the entire faculty and administration, is at the top of that list.  I used to joke that St. Jeanne's was my co-parent, aiding me in enriching their minds and hearts.  St. Jeanne's uniquely fostered their confidence, encouraged their love of learning, and nurtured their sense of compassion, resulting in two incredibly well-adjusted and kind individuals.  Granted they too have a big hand in their successes, the school atmosphere at Saint Jeanne's allowed them to mature in a comfortable and loving environment, leading to a strength in character and faith that will serve them well for the rest of their lives.
On a more personal note, the school provided me with a sense of community and partnership too, and I leaned on it many times over.  Most importantly, it inspired my own faith, leading me through RCIA last year.
I am so thankful for the impact Saint Jeanne's has had on our lives and forever grateful that I was afforded the opportunity to experience it. Your dedication and service truly does make a difference.
Sincerely,
Jennifer Castro

We are so blessed to be a part of the Saint Jeanne de Lestonnac Catholic School Community!   Once again, thank you for your continued love, support and encouragement for our beautiful Catholic School.
