News From the Principal

Dear Saint Jeanne de Lestonnac Catholic School Families,

We are so very excited about the latest developments regarding the traffic light for Avenida Lestonnac and Butterfield Stage Road! If you have not yet done so, please make sure that you have signed the petitions in support of requesting county monies to help us with the funding for the traffic signal.  As Sister Ernestine mentioned in her recent email, we will be kicking off "Giving Tuesday" to inspire friends, families, neighbors and relatives to give to the cause.

As always, days are busy at Saint Jeanne's!   We recently celebrated Red Ribbon Week, Parent/Teacher Conferences, Harvest festivals, pep rallies, and our All Saints Day Mass and Procession of Saints.   In the next few weeks, we look forward to our Veteran's Day Prayer Service, Parent Workshops, Child Mary Celebration/Mass, Freshman enrollment for our High School, and Thanksgiving Vacation!

Be sure to purchase your 25th Anniversary Cookbooks for Thanksgiving or Christmas gifts for families, grandparents etc.  Our eighth grade students are launching the sale by sending order forms home with all of the children as well as setting up tables next week for the sale.  Once the books are sold, we won't be able to reorder, so get them now....hot off the press!

We will have lots of news to share as we approach the holidays.   In this time of Thanksgiving, we give thanks to God for our Saint Jeanne de Lestonnac Catholic School Community.

Have a blessed Thanksgiving Vacation with your loved ones.

Warm Regards,

Mrs. K Mora    Principal

As mentioned in Sister Ernestine's latest message, Saint Jeanne's has been actively pursuing a light at the corner of Avenida Lestonnac and Butterfield Stage Road.  An interim stop sign will be placed at the intersection during Christmas Vacation and a light will follow this summer!  Please support the challenge to help raise some funds toward this important cause on Giving Tuesday!

SJDLS Magis Ministry
Saint Jeanne de Lestonnac Catholic School
Magis Ministry

Magis (pronounced "màh-gis") is a Latin word that means "more" or "better". It is related to ad majorem Dei gloriam, a Latin phrase meaning "for the greater glory of God." Magis refers to the philosophy of doing more, for Christ, and therefore doing more for others. It is an expression of an aspiration and inspiration.
