News From the Principal

Dear Saint Jeanne de Lestonnac Catholic School Families,

Happy New Year to You!

I hope that you had a wonderful Christmas vacation and feel refreshed and invigorated to start an amazing new year filled with lots of excitement as Saint Jeanne's continues to celebrate 25 years of providing quality educational programs in Temecula Valley.  Can you believe that in only seven months, Saint Jeanne de Lestonnac Catholic High School will open its doors to the first Freshmen Class?  We can't wait!

Isn't it wonderful to start 2018 with a new stop sign at the corner of Avenida Lestonnac and Butterfield Stage Road?  We are so thankful to our Stop Light Committee, the county of Riverside, Larry Markham, and all of the families who made a contribution to our future stop light.  We appreciate all of the efforts to maintain the safety of our students, families, and the citizens of the Temecula Valley area.  On the topic of safety, please be reminded to drive slowly and with extreme caution in our parking lot. The safety of our children is number one!

We extend our gratitude to Mrs. Dickson our Theater Director who directed our annual Christmas Production this year.  Wasn't it splendid?  We are also very grateful to our Dance Instructor/ Director, Mrs. Wendy Bombard, assistant Ms. Gabby Cornejo, Cheer Coach Miss Shelby Ingram, and Choir Director, Mrs. Marie Chilstrom.  The Christmas Dance Recital was stunning! We are so blessed to be at Saint Jeanne's where a number of opportunities which highlight the participation in the Fine Arts are very much a part of the curriculum.

As can be expected, this month will be filled with many events and activities including; Talent Show Tryouts, Progress Reports, Spelling Bee, Catholic Schools Week Mass and Dinner, our Annual Nun Run, and exciting Catholic Schools Week Events!  Also, please mark your calendars for the next Parent Formation Evening which will be Tuesday, January 30th at 7:00 pm in the theater. Just like we planned for our speaker series in November, Students will have no homework and daycare will be provided so that all can attend!  We are excited to have a nationally known speaker, Father Spitzer come share a special workshop with us focusing on the 4 Levels of Happiness.  We can't wait!  He is truly amazing.

Once again, we are thrilled to be back and we are truly excited for what is in store for the new year.  We are most grateful for your continued support.

New Year's Blessings,

Mrs. K Mora    Principal

GROWTH MINDSET Tips...

Reserve your Calendars for a Nationally Known Speaker, Father Robert J. Spitzer coming to speak at Saint Jeanne's on Tuesday, January 30th at 7:00 pm!

"The essence of the Four Levels of Happiness is based on timeless principles going back to Aristotle who said that happiness is the one thing we desire in and of itself, everything else is desired for the sake of happiness.

Based on his study of the great philosophers and theologians over the years, Fr. Spitzer refined this model of the Four Level of Happiness."

SJDLS Magis Ministry

Magis (pronounced "màh-gis") is a Latin word that means "more" or "better". It is related to ad majorem Dei gloriam, a Latin phrase meaning "for the greater glory of God." Magis refers to the philosophy of doing more, for Christ, and therefore doing more for others. It is an expression of an aspiration and inspiration.
