Can you believe it is already the last week of September? Every week has been filled with many exciting activities and adventures. We love this time of year!
As mentioned at Take a Peek Day, o
ne of the themes of this year's professional staff development is in the area of "Growth Mindset." As the year progresses, be sure to capture these valuable themes and lessons which can be reinforced at home! Currently our teachers are studying the "Growth Mindset Coach" by Annie Brock and Heather Hundley. This month by month handbook for teachers is to help empower all of our students to achieve at optimum levels. The Growth Mindset concept is based on Carol Dweck's published book, entitled, "Mindset: The New Psychology of Success." Check out the description of Growth Mindset in the following video clip:

Don't forget to mark your calendars for Saturday, October 7th! We are thrilled to kick-off our 25th anniversary celebration at this amazing family fall festival. We are in need for all families to sign up for your one hour of service. Check details with your room parents to sign up. Also....we are calling all SJDLS Alumni to come and celebrate with us. Each alum who attends will receive a special gift. Spread the word! Outside families and friends are welcome to join us.

SJDLS Latest News!
Our Little Vineyard Shade Structure was completed last week! Thank you to our 8th grade graduates last year! This structure was provided with 8th grade fundraising funds as well as Home and School support.
Thank you Mr. Vega for installing it for us!
Saint Jeanne's had a great kick off to the school year with our theme on Kindness.

Mr. Nguyen works with middle school students giving one on one descriptive feedback. This is an element of "Growth Mindset." Students are learning and growing as a result of this effective feedback.
