News From the Principal

Dear Saint Jeanne's Families,

I hope that you had a nice long weekend last week!  It was quite a productive week for us with "Because Nice Matters" Week activities, special prayer assemblies, our "One to One Technology Roll out", filming throughout the week, Family Dinner Night, our faculty in-service, and last but not least, the amazing visit of Pope Francis to the United States and Cuba!

The Technology Roll out went beautifully thanks to several staff members, especially Mr. Groninger, Mrs. Dinverno, and Mrs. Butler!  We couldn't have done it with out these key individuals.  The visiting team from OnPoint Classroom, as well as the film crew from Northern California, were extremely impressed with our lovely school, our fabulous teachers, and our wonderful students.  They were especially struck with how articulate are students are for young people!  The students were so excited for the unveiling of our new devices.  Mr. Groninger described it like watching your children waiting to unwrap their Christmas gift.

Please be sure to refer to the testing letter as well as the suggested test taking skills to continually support your child through out these next few weeks. (Testing Letter 2015-2016 , Test-taking Strategies)

Next week ,we will once again celebrate "Colors of Compassion Week."  Rather than just concentrate on "Breast Cancer" Awareness, we decided to include all "autoimmune" diseases and we are encouraging students to wear their colors of choice in support of friends, loved ones and community members who need our love, hope and prayers.  All different colored ribbons are for sale before and after school for .50 cents.  These ribbons may be worn all next week and Friday, October 9th will be a "Free Dress - Wear your Color of Choice for a $5.00 donation. Last year we were able to raise $2,100.00 for childhood cancer! There will be more information soon.

As always, thank you for your continued support and encouragement as together, we "Care for our Common Home."

Warm Regards,

Mrs. K Mora    Principal
