Update from Archdeacon Monte Giddings
Dear friends,

This last 30 days has been somewhat of a blur, but the fog is lifting now and I am reminded how blessed I am to be a part of our beloved St. Michael community. I really missed seeing everyone and their families at Christmas, a special liturgy that I have participated in all 18 years since my ordination.

I wanted you to know how much we appreciate your visits to the hospital, calls, cards, prayers, and thinking of me (a form of prayer) all of which has greatly lifted my spirit, and encouraged the healing process. Thanks to the Pastoral Care Team for all the encouragement. The medical professionals tell me that my surgery wound is mending rapidly with all of your support.

Unfortunately, the wound vacuum system prevents me from appearing in the public. However, I am anxious to get physically back in the “boat” with you and start pulling at my oar. Hopefully, I will reappear by the end of this month in a limited capacity.

Again, it is a privilege to serve in your midst. You have my humble appreciation and I look forward to seeing you soon.

Grace & peace, Monte Giddings, Deacon

Taizé Service of Evensong
Sunday, January 21st
Spencer Hall
5:00 pm

Join us for a Taizé Service of Evensong in the transformed atmosphere of Spencer Hall.
This simple style of music and prayer was developed after WWII in France for an ecumenical community especially welcoming to youth in the retreat town of Taizé.
The prayerful mantras, candlelight, and meditation of this community have spread throughout the world as a refreshing and centering form of worship.

Day School Enrollment Time!
St. Michael’s Day School offers an early enrollment for parishioners.

This year enrollment for the
2018-19 school year will be on Wednesday, February 14th

Parishioners wishing to enroll their child in preschool may drop off an enrollment contract any time between 8 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. If you know of others outside the parish, wishing to enroll their child, enrollment will open to the rest of the community on Thursday, February 15. If you would like us to mail you enrollment paperwork, or are interested in knowing more about our program, please call the Day School office (432-1174). We will be happy to set up a tour for you.

St. Michael's Day School is blessed by the daily presence of beautiful young children and their parents and grandparents who bring them into this building each morning. We are especially enriched with the presence of Miss. Betsy, Miss Emily or Father David, who bless us with their gift of storytelling at our morning chapel once a week. Being present in the midst of wonderful teachers and helpers who treat each and every child as a gift from God reminds us of all that we are richly blessed. We are indeed thankful for your support.
