PTO Meeting, VIRTUS Class, End of Q1
Saint Michael's Minutes
Teaching Children their value as Children of God
Principal's Notes
Dear parents and families,

I look forward to seeing you all at the PTO meeting tonight, 7:00, in the school Cafeteria. The agenda will cover:
  • State of the School
  • PTO budget and finances
  • Fundraisers for the year
  • Technology Investments
  • School volunteer opportunities
Don't forget, by attending,  your children receive a free dress down day pass and the class with the most parents attending gets McDonald's cookies and a juice.

The first quarter ends on October 27, so please review your child's grades on PowerSchool (click here) to ensure there are no surprises. Please be aware that PowerSchool is traditionally closed off the last few days of the quarter, and at times the Diocese takes it offline to make updates. If you need help accessing your account, please contact Mrs. Carlstrom. If you have any questions about assignments, please reach out to your child's teacher through email.

The St. Michael's Minutes, while being the greatest weekly newsletter a principal has ever written, still is not yet perfect since it does not reach our entire community. As a goal for greater parent involvement and increased communication, I would love to be able to send this to our families who use other languages at home. If you are interested in helping to translate our St. Michael's Minutes newsletter each week into Spanish or Korean, please send me an email. It is extremely important that we work and partner with all the parents of our students.

God bless,

Daniel V. Cinalli
Principal

Formation in Christian Chastity

Each year we are required by the Bishop to present a lesson plan, provided by the Diocese, devoted to the topic of   "Formation in Christian Chastity". This program is mandated by the Office of Child Protection and provides teachers and parents with resources to help inform our students about safety from the perspective of human dignity. The lessons for grades 1st through 8th will start  in two weeks, 10/27 - 11/4. This will give the parents enough time to opt out if they so choose.

You have total access to the materials by going to the following website:

There you will find the exact lesson plans and script for the plans. The site can also answer any questions you may have regarding the justification for and reasoning behind our diocese's selection and mandating of this program. If you would like to opt your child out of these lessons, attached, please find an opt-out form. I ask that you please complete the form and submit it to Mrs. Carlstrom no later than next Wednesday, October 26.

VIRTUS Training at St. Michael's
