Turkey Trot, Poinesettia Sale, Monday Dress Down Day
Saint Michael's Minutes
Teaching Children their value as Children of God
Principal's Notes
Dear parents and families,
Our poinsettia sales and Turkey Trot fundraisers are going extremely well thanks to the efforts of our PTO, parents, and students. Please remember to send in your poinsettia order forms tomorrow to ensure we are able to place the order in time. Mr. Muha has shared goals with each class for Turkey Trot rewards. Please encourage your children to work hard to reach their goal so they will receive their prize! Don't just place those flyers in your file cabinets; these fundraisers are definitely not a waste of money since all proceeds come right to the school for the children's benefit!

A flyer went home today for a Fall Colors Dress Down Day on Monday, November 21. This is a fundraiser to support our Student Government so they are able to host events later in the year for the benefit of all our students. Please send your children in with $1.00 and wearing brown, maroon, orange, or other fall colors and jeans.

We are well into the fall season and students should be wearing their winter uniforms to school every day. Please check the section below for the specific details of the winter uniform.

Tonight from 5:00-8:00 is another McDonald's Spirit Night. I look forward to seeing you all there, I will be the adult eating Chicken McNuggets and drinking a chocolate milkshake with a big smile on my face! Mrs. Kennedy will be passing out free dress down day passes to students who attend.

One last quick reminder, next week we have a half day on Wednesday, November 23. No School on Thursday (Nov 24, Thanksgiving) Friday (Nov 25), or Monday (Nov 28).

God bless,

Daniel Cinalli

Timing is everything when it comes to eating and weight loss.  In a recent study, researchers tracked 420 overweight adults in a weight-loss program.  All ate roughly the same 1,400 calorie/day diet.  But those who had their biggest meal of the day before 3 PM lost more weight than those who ate their main meal later.  The late eaters were more likely to skip breakfast, which can also interfere with weight loss.  You probably do not have to eat as early as 3 PM if you wish to lose weight, but try to keep late evening snacking to a minimum.
