Dear parents and families,

Today we began our Lenten Season with Ash Wednesday Mass and receiving of ashes. Lent is a season of sacrifices and fasting, all with the idea of bringing us closer to God. I pray that this Lenten Season is filled with thoughtful prayer and active growth towards our Lord. As Pope Francis said, "Lent comes providentially to reawaken us, to shake us from our lethargy."

We will have Stations of the Cross in the Church each Friday during Lent at 2:40. Parents are invited to attend, but please remember students must be walked back to the school before they are dismissed to their cars for dismissal.

A big congratulations and thank you to Mrs. Acevedo, Mrs. Taylor, and all our volunteers who helped make International Night such an amazing success. It was so wonderful to see the pride of our diverse community, and as Father Drummond said, the word catholic means universal. The food was delicious, the clothing was spectacular, and the dancing brought the house down! Congratulations to 4th grader Mary Alnmir who got the most Passport Signatures and wins a McDonald's gift card, she's quite the world traveler!

We have three CYO basketball teams marching towards their championships this weekend. Look below for times and locations if you are interested in attending and supporting our Celtics!

Yearbook order forms are due by the end of the month. Please be sure to sent them in to ensure you don't miss out on the memories!

Interims will be coming home Wednesday of next week. If you have any questions about grades please email your child's teacher.

If you have not filled out a FACTS application but would like assistance, the last chance for help filling out FACTS information will be on Wednesday, March 2 from 6:00-7:00 PM in the school cafeteria.

Claire's Gourmet order forms are due by the 27th.

God bless,

Daniel Cinalli

Many people have good intentions and buy a bunch of fresh produce, but then forget to use it.  Then they find it several days or weeks later rotting in the bottom of the fridge and have to throw it out.  While fresh is great, it is not the only way to work in fruits and vegetables into your diet. Other ways are frozen, canned, dried and jarred.  These ways are not as healthy as fresh because of the increase in sodium, but are good when you are on a busy schedule and don't have time to prepare fresh.

"As Lent is the time for greater love, listen to Jesus' thirst...'Repent and believe' Jesus tells us. What are we to repent? Our indifference, our hardness of heart. What are we to believe? Jesus thirsts even now, in your heart and in the poor -- He knows your weakness. He wants only your love, wants only the chance to love you." -- Blessed Teresa of Calcutta
