Dear parents and families,

As we continue in our first week in Lent, let us look to the words of Pope Francis as guidance for this season, “Lent is the favorable season for renewing our encounter with Christ, living in his word, in the sacraments and in our neighbor. May the Holy Spirit lead us on a true journey of conversion, so that we can rediscover the gift of God’s word, be purified of the sin that blinds us, and serve Christ present in our brothers and sisters in need.”

We will have Stations of the Cross in the Church each Friday during Lent at 2:40. Parents are invited to attend, but please remember students must be walked back to the school before they are dismissed to their cars for dismissal.

Our Claire's Gourmet Top Winner is Belen in 4th grade. She wins a $50 gift card. Our two winners of $25 gift cards are Abigail in 4th grade and Ivan in 1st grade. Congratulations to them and thank you all for the hard work fundraising!

Congratulations to our St. Michaels 7th and 8th grade boys who won the very coveted sportsmanship award this year for CYO basketball. This is the award which gives me a great deal of pride as a principal since it represents the wonderful character in our school and parish.

Congratulations to our 4th and 5th grade girls who won the championship this weekend! Go Celtics!

Yearbook order forms are due by the end of the month. Please be sure to sent them in to ensure you don't miss out on the memories!

There has been an increase in GI symptoms (nausea, vomiting, diarrhea) throughout the school, especially in the junior building.  Please reinforce good hand washing, coughing and sneezing into a tissue or their arm, and keeping hands away from their eyes, nose, and mouth (easier said than done). If you would like to send in extra tissues or hand sanitizer to your classrooms teachers will happily accept.

Interims are coming home today. If you have any questions about grades please email your child's teacher.

Please remember there is no school Monday, March 13 for a teacher professional development day.

God bless,

Daniel Cinalli

Little Celtics

Greetings from Preschool!

We are getting excited for Spring to come! Please keep in mind that mornings are still quite chilly with very cold days next week, so keep sending students in with their jackets.

PreK-4 students practiced saying their Pledge of Allegiance during morning meeting time today.

Remember there is no school Monday, March 13 for students. Teachers will be busy with a professional development day.

This coming weekend we will be adjusting the clock forward to daylight saving time, which will deprive us of one hour of sleep.  With less sleep or even just a change in sleep habits, we may become more irritable and may not feel our best. This especially applies to children, who need extra sleep for their growing body.  Help your child have as little disruption as possible by getting them to bed a little earlier so they are focused and ready to learn when they return to school.

"You must ask God to give you power to fight against the sin of pride which is your greatest enemy - the root of all that is evil, and the failure of all that is good. For God resists the proud." - St. Vincent de Paul
