Saint Michael's Minutes
Week two begins the flow of the normal rhythm of the school year
Principal's Notes
Dear parents and families,

I have quickly seen the caliber of student we have at Saint Michaels, especially the maturity and leadership capabilities of our middle school students. I believe the student leaders are a crucial part in the culture of a school and I look forward to working with all our students to continue the atmosphere of respect and responsibility that is present in our school.

This morning our students practiced their rights to vote for their student government representatives. We were treated to excellent, heartfelt, and thoughtful speeches from all candidates, any of which would be fantastic leaders for our school.

Congratulations to the Student Government Officers for the 2016-2017 School Year
  • President - Samantha Lee
  • Vice President - Laura Phan
  • Treasurer - Annabella Caporaletti
  • Secretary - Victoria Phan

Also congratulations are due to our Student Council Representatives:

  • 4th Grade - Jennifer Nguyen
  • 5th Grade - Tatina Saliba
  • 6th Grade - Lillani Horcharoen
  • 7th Grade - Joseph Kennedy
  • 8th Grade - Danny Roque

Thank you to Mrs. Parker and all our middle school teachers for helping to organize the election polling.

God bless,

Daniel V. Cinalli
Principal
Patrols
We will begin a new School Safety Patrol Program for the school to help with arrival and dismissal. Mr. Cinalli will lead the group, and it is currently open to all 6th graders who are interested. A form was sent home today, and should be returned this week if your child is interested. Mr. Cinalli has promised to provide hot chocolate on cold days, as well as a pizza party at the end of the year to celebrate the successes in student safety.

Ideally we will have the Safety Patrols out and training sometime in the next two weeks.
Preschool Has Begun
Welcome to all our new and returning preschoolers this week. We have seen a few tears, but many more smiles and hugs for Mrs. Jennison and Mrs. Nary.

Please be aware of the preschoolers crossing the streets during arrival and dismissal. It is vital we all drive carefully in the parking lot for all our students safety.

Volunteers and Substitutes
Many parents have asked about ways to help in school and volunteer. We are always looking for way to engage and partner with parents. On that note, please check below to see which Virtus training classes are being offered in the area. You can register online at Virtusonline.org.

The best way to volunteer is to email your child's teacher and ask which times some extra help are needed.

We are also looking to expand our substitute list. If you would like to be considered please send an email with resume to [email protected].
