June 6 E-News

Rector's Corner
Dear Church Family,
I hope you are all enjoying this beautiful weather. This Sunday, June 10th is our Annual Parish Picnic. Please join us  this Sunday at  10 am for our Mass on the Grass. Church will be a short, casual outdoor service. Come by and sing your favorite hymns and here my famous 3 minute sermon! Following worship, we will gather for a cook out!  We will provide the hamburgers, hot dogs, fixing and drinks. Please bring a side or dessert to share!  Come help us celebrate the end of the school year and kick off the summer season in style! The playground will be open.  Bring your friends!  I look forward to seeing everyone there.

Making a Difference
Flood Relief
Saint Peter's Episcopal in Ellicott City is collecting aid for flood relief! You can ship things to them directly from Amazon, and we'll be gathering the gift cards they are asking for here at the church. Click here for the list of supplies they are looking for. Contact Tracey Forfa if you have any questions.  tforfa@gmail.com
Funeral Volunteers
There is a funeral  on Saturday at  3 PM for a family member whose parents were members of St. Peter's in the past. There is to be a "pot luck" after the service, so no food preparation is involved. We need volunteers to help with a minimal set-up before the service and clean-up after the service. Please consider helping a family in their time of loss.

You do not need to attend all sessions to get something out of this study so join whenever you are able!  See how our prayer shapes our belief and our lives and how our beliefs lead us into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ.  Even though we pray the words of The Book of Common Prayer each week, many of us don't know where these prayers come from, what they mean, or how they call us to live on a daily basis.
  • Education for Ministry Enrollment for Fall 2018 -- Have you ever wanted to take a deeper dive into your faith or wonder what ministry God is calling on you to do as one of his disciples? Than please join us on Monday nights starting in September.  EFM is not seminary and there are no grades, it is just a group of committed Christians who explore more fully their work as disciples through weekly guided discussions and readings and fellowship.  For more information or to sign up please talk to or e-mail Sally Lermond at sallymullen7@gmail.com; Tracey Forfa, tforfa@gmail.com, Rev. Emily or Mary Pat Wilson.  We look forward to having you join us!!!
