Dear St. John Paul II Families,
The countdown is on for Spring Break 2017! I'm currently away from school until tomorrow serving on an Accreditation Team, but the activities on campus keep buzzing! We're looking forward to seeing many of your smiling families during the 1st and 2nd Grade Spring Musical tomorrow evening.
As we continue the season of Lent, remember we should be praying more, fasting and giving alms. My prayer for you and your children is that you are able to focus on one, if not all three, of these traditions as we prepare our hearts for Easter.
May your family have a blessed, safe, joy-filled holiday together!

2017 Fun In the Sun – May 26th – Save the Date!
Mark your calendars and join in our Saints family fun at this year’s Fun in the Sun (FITS), which will be held on Friday, May 26th. This event is not only one of the biggest PTO fundraisers, but it is the one big event the kids look forward to each year. We will continuously update you on how to get involved, but one of the easiest ways to assist is with monetary donations. These donations help to cover the costs of activities the kids love most, such as the rock wall, the bungee jump, prize booth and more. We look forward to Fun in the Sun being the most fun and memorable event of 2017. Thank you for your time, your energy and your ideas – your continuous support is what helps make our Saints family thrive.
For donation information or questions about FITS, please email Kristen Matthews at [email protected].
- FITS FUN FACT #1: Did you know that PTO spends nearly $6,000 on rental items for Fun in the Sun? Items such as the climbing wall, bungee jump, cotton candy machines, bounce houses and extra folding tables are just some of the items rented each year. Without your generous donations, StJPII PTO would not be able to give back to the school as much as it does - thank you in advance for your contributions of time or money.

Ambassador Family Volunteers Needed!
It is that time of year again…new students are registering for the 2017-2018 school year and we need YOUR help welcoming these new families!
Through the StJPII Ambassador Program, new families are assigned an ambassador family to help make their transition into our community easier and friendlier. Ambassadors are current parents who volunteer to welcome a new family and give them someone to call for answers to many of their questions. We try to match families who have children that are the same gender, in the same grade and may live close to one another. Our goal is to ensure that each new student has at least one familiar face to greet them on the first day of school.
We especially need families with new siblings starting in Pre-K and Kindergarten to volunteer. We also need volunteers for ALL grade levels and bilingual ambassador families too. Please consider sharing your love of StJPII by becoming an ambassador. Duties are minimal and can be done on your own time. Please click here to sign up to volunteer.

ELEMENTARY ATHLETICS
This is the first week of practices for Volleyball and Baseball.
The coaches should have contacted you with the information for your team. There will not be
any practices the week of Spring Break.
Rain Alerts: if the fields are too wet for Baseball practice, then we will send out an IRIS Alert
to parents that there will be no practices for WHCSA. The Alerts will not come out until the
afternoon, so we can give the fields a chance to dry up during the day.
MIDDLE SCHOOL
Our Softball team had a great week defeating both St. Cecilia and St. Frances de Sales! The Lady Saints play Tuesday against Holy Family as we head into our last week of play before Spring Break!
Our Baseball team had a tough game against the Thunder ending in a loss, but bounced back in their game against St. Augustine, defeating the Cougars by a score of 5-3!
And our Track team continues to prepare for their first meet of the season which will be held after Spring Break! Please go to our Athletics calendar to see all of our meets and games as we continue through our Spring season of sports!
