TAMING HIGH STRENGTH STEEL

Roll forming high-strength steel was once an incredibly challenging endeavor. Technology and industry innovations have eased the burden, allowing the manufacturer to use thinner gauge steel while maintaining a stronger and lighter part.
High-yield or high-strength steel (defined as yield between 80ksi and 220ksi) is desirable because, as you may have already guessed, it's stronger but lighter. 
When particular components of a product are lighter, the entire structure becomes lighter and the strength is not compromised.
Samco Innovation
Samco Machinery recently completed production on a Lock Ring Rollformer with an Inline Sweep Unit. This rollformer includes a punch/notch flying press system and can run on variable speeds up to 65 FPM. The Lock Rings will be rivet locked in a (customer's) secondary operation.

WELCOME to Jim Glamcewski ....to our production team as Fabrication Supervisor. A licensed machinist by trade, Jim has held leadership positions as a Production Control Specialist, CNC Programmer, and Machine Shop Supervisor. Jim brings key experience in continuous improvement programs focusing on safety, quality and production deadlines. 

CONGRATULATIONS to Julien Lemarie.....promoted to a Project Leader in Corporate Engineering. Reporting to the VP of Engineering, Julien will assume all facets of responsibility for leading a newly partitioned Press and Hydraulics team and will continue to work closely with the leadership in the Press and Hydraulics Group.
