Thank You, Peyman!

As the new President of Child Foundation, I am honored to serve thousands of children in need. This could not be possible without the generosity of thousands of donors all over the world. It is indeed a privilege to be an instrument of good and kindness between donors and children.
I also must thank Dr. Peyman Raoofi for many years of serving children in Child Foundation by volunteering, being active as a Board member, President, and CEO of this fine organization. Through his leadership, we have been able to expand our wings to many countries and attract thousands of new donors. It is very challenging to follow a person with such a big heart, endless motivation and energy, and vast numbers of connections. I am glad that we still can enjoy his support and guidance and on behalf of more than nine thousand children who are benefiting from Child Foundation's scholarship, I want to say "Thank You, Peyman."
In a few short weeks, schools open in many countries that we work in, and many children are in need of a backpack and school supplies. I want to ask you to join us in providing at least two thousand backpacks. Please donate generously here to participate in this worthy cause.
Like Peyman, I am always available to receive your suggestions and recommendations. Please drop us a note whenever you have one.

Backpacks of Hope

Fall is almost here. With the new school season nearly upon us, we need not remind our friends and supporters of the great sense of responsibility we all share when we hear about less fortunate school kids across the globe who spend their summer days working hard so that they can earn enough money to pay for their school clothes, textbooks and supplies.

This year, Child Foundation is once again having a Scholastic Fund Drive to help young and needy school children with special educational backpacks called "Backpack of Hope" that containing books, notebooks, school supplies, and in some areas clothes. Our goal is to finish this drive with your help and support at the earliest possible time so that these packages can be delivered in time for the start of the new school year.

Last year, we were able to distribute around 2,000 Backpacks of Hope and hopefully with your help we help more children this year.

This year, each "Backpack of Hope" is estimated to cost $75 for each person. We are inviting all you kind-hearted sponsors that are willing to participate in this program to send their donations for providing one or more (or even a proportion) of a School Bag to our office address or by clicking here. For those who donate at least 10 Backpacks of Hope, we will send pictures and information of children who have benefited from their generosity.

Either way, you will have the collective thanks and enormous gratitude of thousands of very grateful school children who will now experience a happy start to their school year.
Our Volunteers Hard at Work

Child Foundation's volunteers participated in 18th Annual Iranian Festival in Portland and in 11th annual Iranian Festival in Seattle which was attended by thousands of participants. Both festivals had the largest attendees to date, with more than 4000 in Portland and thousands more in Seattle. Our volunteers and some of our donors presented our activities, mission, and vision and answered visitors' questions.

We also had an informational table at Max Amin's comedy show in Portland where we were able to provide information to participants.

Our friends and supports in Canada attended 17th Summer Festival held by Shahr-e-Ma magazine in which is considered the second largest Iranian gathering in Toronto. Thanks to our wonderful volunteers we received more sponsorship applications.

Child Foundation also had a booth in 10th annual Kurdish Festival in Melsatman Sq. The event is held by Kurdish House in Toronto and is considered to be the largest Kurdish population gathering in Canada.

We owe a very special thank you to our wonderful volunteers for their hard work and dedication. If you wish to volunteer, please click here.

Hi, I'm Reyhaneh!
I am a 10 year old talented girl from Esfahan studying in 4th grade.

My father has lung cancer and needs to start his chemotherapy soon. He had been suffering from invertible disk inflammation for two years ago, and had to operate it. He is not in a good health condition.

My mother is a housewife and stays at home to take care of my father and my younger brother.

We all live in a part of my grandfather's house. Our family is not doing well at all but I am devoted to school. I love learning and my grades are great.

But to continue my education I need your support.

Hi, I'm
Mohammad Mehdi
I am a brilliant twelve-year-old boy from the city of Bam. I lost my father when I was a little kid. My dad suffered from liver cancer, and his mother put lots of effort and borrowed money from family and friends to help him, but unfortunately, he died after five years of painful battle with cancer.

After his passing, my mother had to support her two children without any income or a place to live. A charity helped us with a small place to live now.

My mother suffers from anxiety disorder after my dad passed away due to the hardship that she has gone through. She tries hard to control herself to put less pressure on us but...

Despite her disorder, she works sporadically in a date packaging workshop and sometimes at people's houses to provide for her family.

Considering our hard living condition, I am in desperate need of your help to be able to continue my education.
