Vittorio Santini
Myrtle Beach, SC

Vittorio Santini was born in Italy to a very artistic family who encouraged him to appreciate fine art of the world from a very young age.  From the time he could walk and talk, he began playing soccer and experimenting with art.  He turned his love of the sport into a career and became a professional soccer player playing with the Lucchese SS of Lucca, Tuscany, Italy until a serious injury during a game in Montreal, Canada when he was forced into an early semi-retirement and played with numerous soccer clubs in the United States and Argentina during the 1960's.

Santini finds himself today, an Italian born American citizen, and a full time artist.  He considers himself retired having moved from New Jersey to Myrtle Beach, SC.  He uses his extensive traveling and life experiences while painting to project his interpretations onto canvas in a unique and expressive way.  He is a self-taught artist, described as an "Abstract Expressionist" with a strong relationship to Folk Art School.  In his paintings, Santini tries to transmit a message of expressive feelings and spiritual attachments for "love of life" and all its mysteries.

Vittorio paints with oil on canvas and creates his work to his satisfaction.  Santini considers himself an action artist, painting whatever he feels at that moment.  His work relfects his passion for the art, with vibrant colors and distinctive patterns.  He has been involved wiht the arts for over 35 years.  He continues his passion through his two grandsons, exposing them to the arts and encouraging them to express themselves through their art.

He is currently a member of the Waccamaw Arts and Crafts Guild, the Franklin G. Burroughs - Simeon B. Chapin Art Museum, and ACA of Horry County.  Before moving to Myrtle Beach, he was a member of Watchung Art Center in New Jersey for over 20 years.  He had a very successful show in Yonkers, New York that was organized by Evolution Art of Yonkers, in July 2008.  In October 2007, Waccamaw Arts and Crafts Guild awarded him first prize for his oil painting titled People in the Square. This was sponsored by First Federal Bank of Myrtle Beach.  He was chosen as Artist of the Month in June 2006 at Gifu Art Exchange in Conway, SC.  Santini also had a successful one man show at Sunset River Art Gallery in Calabash, NC.

Vittorio Santini is currently displayed at several local galleries including: Palmetto Studio Gallery, Myrtle Beach, Collector's Cafe & Gallery in Myrtle Beach, Sunset River Art Gallery in Calabash, NC.
