Caldecott-winning artist Paul O. Zelinsky and New York Times-bestselling author Emily Jenkins are coming to The Flying Pig to share their newest book, Toys Come Home: Being the Early Experiences of an Intelligent Stingray, a Brave Buffalo, and a Brand-New Someone Called Plastic.
 For those familiar with this charming series about a group of intrepid toys weathering the ups and downs of friendship and adventure, the new book is a prequel to Toys Go Out.
When a little girl gets a plush stingray for her birthday, it makes friends with some of her other toys as they all try to navigate the world of real people.
The book is for ages 4-8, but the event is open to all ages. (Note: Emily Jenkins also writes as E. Lockhart for teens, who are welcome to come and chat with her.)

The Flying Pig is celebrating FIFTEEN YEARS of connecting readers with books to love by throwing a party for our wonderful customers and staff! Cake, balloons, and all kinds of revelry will be happening from noon to 4 pm.
To thank you for our fifteen years in the community, we'll be offering a one-day 15% blanket discount on everything in the store! This is a great opportunity to buy autographed books and gifts, special hardcovers and anything else you've been coveting but holding off on. (Books already discounted for more than 15% will of course be sold at the higher discount!)
We will be inviting everyone to contribute quilt squares in celebration of books, reading, and The Flying Pig to be added to an anniversary quilt we'll hang in the Loft!
