"Innovations in Human Nutrition and Health"

Although the world often focuses on the electronics industry as a place where there is innovation and growth, there has been an equally exciting explosion of innovation in Human Nutrition and Health that has had a major impact on the wellbeing of people on a global basis. Dr. Xu's presentation will focus first on the history of products and technologies in his industry, but will move on to describe the changes that he sees happening in the industry and the new developments that both DSM and the industry has been able to invent and commercialize.  He will also comment on the concept of "personalized nutrition" and the impact it will have. There is increasing awareness in the healthcare industry that nutrition has a major impact on the health of individuals and, just as "personalized medicine" has become an exciting area for the pharmaceutical industry, "personalized nutrition" will be an important area of impact and innovation.
