What is Small Business Saturday? It is an American shopping holiday held on the Saturday after Thanksgiving during one of the busiest shopping periods of the year. It is a counterpart to Black Friday and Cyber Monday, which feature big box retail and e-commerce stores respectively. By contrast, Small Business Saturday encourages holiday shoppers to patronize brick and mortar businesses that are small and local.

Do you love to make bowls and share them with others?  Clay Folk (our local potters' guild) with the help of the MBCAC is hosting an Empty Bowls event this coming November -- a benefit to support our local food banks.

Bowl makers make bowls, soup makers make soup and bread makers make bread -- they, along with a slew of volunteers helping and serving, welcome attendees to the event who get to have yummy soup served in the bowl of their choice which they can then take home. Suggested donation is $20 with ALL proceeds going to local food banks and Tender Loving Christmas.  Makers and volunteers get first choice of bowls!

Bowls can be of any medium and don't have to be food safe/functional (a paper bowl can be used as an insert).  So let your imagination soar and come be a part of a very fun, sweet event.

Deadline for completed bowls is November 15 so  there's plenty of  time! Pledges for bowls should be emailed to Amara at Info@MazAmar.com
