Youth Committee Update

By Kirstie Dobbs and Hailey Johns

The USHJA Foundation Youth Committee will function as an auxiliary branch to the greater USHJA Foundation, uniting and mobilizing the motivated and passionate young horsemen that comprise the USHJA. The primary objectives of the Youth Committee will be to increase awareness of the Foundation, expand upon its fundraising efforts and become involved with its many events. The committee plans to not only provide assistance with events and fundraisers already in place but also to plan and run its own. More events mean more exposure and more funding, allowing the Foundation to provide opportunities and support to a larger group.  Having representation from the Youth Committee on the ground at Foundation events will strengthen both the committee and the Foundation itself.

Currently, the youth is a fairly untapped source of enthusiasm and ambition that has the potential to be extremely beneficial to the Foundation, especially in settings such as fundraisers. The youth will bring vigor and enthusiasm to each and every event to which they contribute. The ultimate goal will be to disperse the power associated with fundraising, allowing the youth to implement their own fundraising efforts.

Get Involved at Our Upcoming Events

The USHJA Foundation has two exciting fundraisers coming up where you can make an impact!

USHJA Foundation Night at the
CP National Horse Show
November 3, 2016
The CP National Horse Show is pulling out all the stops to support the USHJA Foundation this year!

November 3 will be USHJA Foundation Night at the CP National Horse Show, featuring a Clear Round Challenge during the $130,000 Grand Prix International Open Jumpers - Time First Jump Off presented by Suncoast Commercial. Interested supporters can make their pledge whether they are there in person or watching the live stream at EQSports.Net

Everyone who makes a donation by texting the word JUMPER to 91999 will be invited to attend the VIP Party after the Grand Prix, as are all of our 2016 donors.  This exclusive event is always great fun, and we look forward to celebrating with you!

Giving Tuesday
November 29, 2016
Giving Tuesday is a national day of giving, and the USHJA Foundation will be asking supporters to donate to the Foundation as a way to give thanks to a special someone this #GivingTuesday! You can make your general donation to the Foundation on November 29th in honor of a special person or four-legged friend.  When you donate in honor of someone, we'll feature your thank you on our Facebook page!

Two great ways to give on #GivingTuesday: Text GIVINGTHANKS to 41444 or visit www.ushjafoundation.org !

USHJA Annual Meeting Silent Auction
December 11-15, 2016
The USHJA Foundation will again host a silent auction at the USHJA Annual Meeting. This is a great way to get unique gifts for the holidays, while supporting the sport! Check out the Annual Meeting webpage for more information about the event, and we look forward to seeing you there!
Plan to Give and Make a Difference for the Longterm

Our supporters are incredible, and we couldn't offer great charitable programs and fund important sport opportunities without them. In 2016, supporters are showing their commitment to the USHJA Foundation's mission by making a long-term pledge to the Foundation.

Through our Five-Year Planned Giving Campaign, donors select the yearly donation of their choice to have a sustained impact on the Foundation's mission. These donations allow us to plan ahead and ensure the efforts from year to year are consistent.

We want to extend a special thank you to all those donors who have joined this exciting initiative:
