School Council Update #9 - November 3, 2017
|
This week we were excited to launch our new website platform on all 150 OCDSB school websites. If you haven't visited your school website yet, take a minute to check it out. The new sites are built on a dynamic platform which is much easier to use and has much better functionality. We have incorporated some of the features of our new district site into the school sites as well.
The website migration is part of a larger digital transformation project underway at the OCDSB. We know parents need easier and more timely access to information and we are working to make that happen. In addition to the new school and district websites, this project includes the launch of parent, staff and student portals, the development of a new OCDSB app (coming soon), a move to online forms (coming over the next year), and improved capacity for communicating with parents on a regular basis and during emergencies.
So if you have a minute, take a look at our progress! Updating 150 websites at once is a bit of a challenge, so we still have some content migration to do, but I think you will really like our new sites.
As always, we welcome your feedback and you can send it to me directly or to [email protected].
