We're Off to a Great Start
2017-18 School Year

We were thrilled to welcome nearly 2,400 smiling faces back to the classroom for an awesome start to the 2017-18 school year. We look forward to keeping you updated through the website, Facebook, Twitter, eNews, Bulldog Bulletin, and Press Star articles.

Welcome Back to School!
Freshmen First Day
Transition Day Makes a Positive Difference

NLHS Freshmen are provided special transition programming that allows the first day of school to be one that provides a focus for this group. Upper classmen aid staff members in planning and presenting information that informs ninth-graders about the location of classes, day-to-day expectations, and opportunities available to NLHS students.

We know the more connected students are to their new school, the more apt they are to realize success as the weeks and months proceed. Our goal is for students to feel safe and informed in an effort to realize our mission: Success for All Students.

Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports
PBIS

PBIS is a process unique to each of our schools. Staff members working with students in kindergarten through eighth grade define and teach students what constitutes appropriate behaviors in all aspects of school, from the bus to the classroom to the cafeteria and playground. The start of the school year provides an awesome opportunity to ensure everyone understands these important expectations.

Homecoming 2017
Go Bulldogs!

Staff and students have been busy preparing for an exceptional Homecoming celebration.
This year's theme is "There's No Place Like HOMEcoming". Check out your district calendars and website for many other activities that will take place throughout the week.

Friday, October 6  provides a culmination to the week with a Pep Rally and Powder Puff game. A mini-parade from the High School to the Football Stadium will take place at 6:15 p.m. and kick off for the football game is at 7 p.m. High School students wrap up this celebration on Saturday, October 7 with their Homecoming Dance.
