Principal's Pen
As you may have heard, we will be creating a Personalized Learning Profile (PLP) for every student in grades K-8  to help us in educating your child in the best way possible. Proverbs 22:6 states, "Train up a child in the way he should go. Even when he is old he will not depart from it." I think this verse is teaching us about individual purpose and design. It's about getting to know each child and teaching him or her in a way that fits their personality, spiritual gifts, talents, and interests or, their unique design. We are looking to honor your child's uniqueness and assessing the ways they learn, engage, and interact with others and the environment around them. We are dedicated to your child's education and spiritual growth and are thrilled to be using multiple tools to learn what makes your child "tick". We have partnered with The Nectar Group as a means of collecting data that will specifically map out your child's strengths and weaknesses from a cognitive viewpoint. A letter went home last week from The Nectar Group explaining their partnership with us. (If you didn't get this and would to read it, please request a copy by sending an email to TGlandon@sothfamily.org .) You will hear more details about this at the Parent Information Night on   March 13, at 6:30 . If you plan to attend the meeting, please RSVP to LJennings@sothfamily.org .
