School Outreach Programme 2013:
Centre welcomes Libertad Methodist School

The School Outreach Programme is an initiative by the George Price Centre for Peace and Development aimed at hosting students from outlying areas who otherwise might not have the opportunity to visit our Capital.  The Programme has been established in memory of Mr. Price and takes place in the week of his birthday, January 15.

Last Friday, as part of the 2013 programme, we welcomed 51 students, their principal and 3 teachers from Libertad Methodist School.  They were given a comprehensive tour of the George Price Centre and took part in the quiz "George Price - man of Purpose and Vision".  The group also enjoyed a grand tour of Belmopan, the highlight being a guided tour of the National Assembly.  After enjoying a good lunch, the students took part in the Centre's Conflict Resolution Activities, learning more about the dangers and opportunities of conflict; how to find win/win solutions to a conflict and how to effectively manage stress and anger.  The visit ended with a friendship-exchange between the Libertad students and their counterparts from St. Martin Government School.  A great time was had by all!

Libertad Methodist SchoolThe Centre seeks to host more students from all over Belize to gain a greater knowledge of the George Price Centre and an appreciation for our Capital!
