May 2015

The School of Hard Knocks programs are now very active here in the Brisbane community. We are already seeing the huge benefits that our School programs are delivering, with an increased sense of self-esteem and confidence in the participants, along with many new friendships and stories of some choir members moving onto further education and employment.

Read on to see what else the School has happening and how you can be involved.

Programs in Queensland

Our programs are all about building competence and confidence, albeit through the arts, that leads to greater social inclusion and pathways for our participants to move within and around the community and lead more fulfilled and happier lives.

A key audience for all programs is individuals experiencing mental health issues; homelessness, addiction to alcohol or other drugs; or disability.

Programs include:

  • Absolutely Everybody Choir
    Valentine's Busk - February
  • Word on the Street (Creative Writing)
  • Rhythm of Life (Music Theatre)
  • Street Beat (Percussion with Basketballs)

Our Absolutely Everybody Choir has made several public performances and the choir members and audience enjoy every moment.

Do you know of someone who could benefit from our programs? Contact us for more details.
