This week, we talk about:
Celebrate Star Wars Day with Us

"May the force be with you" as we celebrate Star Wars Day on Saturday, May the 4th, with special activities. 

Please join us for these always fun pop culture events!

+ 3:00-5:30 pm | Bach Branch

Make a Star Wars bookmark and enjoy a TIE Fighter snack. For ages 5-11.


 

+ 3:30-5:00 pm | Delaware Branch

Star Wars crafts, snacks, and a Star Wars movie. For ages 9-17.


 

+ 3:30-5:30 pm | North Albany Branch

Watch "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" with popcorn and fruit punch. For ages 6-17.


 

+ 4:00-5:00 pm | Arbor Hill/West Hill Branch

Make a Star Wars-themed craft, and get a picture taken in a special Star Wars photo booth. Children are encouraged to dress as their favorite Star Wars characters. The photo booth will be open 12:00-6:00 pm. For ages 6-10.


 

+ 4:00-5:00 pm | Howe Branch

Make Star Wars origami figures and enjoy a Jedi snack. | For ages 17 and under.


 
Explore Pop Culture on Free Comic Book Day

Comic books are a varied, layered, and engaging form of art and writing. Please join us on Saturday, May 5, for Free Comic Book Day to explore this part of pop culture.

All of our branches are giving away comic books during their normal hours. A few locations are hosting special activities.

+ 12:00-5:00 pm | Pine Hills Branch

Play a Star Wars "look-and-find" game to win a prize. For all ages.


 

+ 1:00-3:00 pm | Howe Branch

Create a custom superhero mask and watch Pixar's "The Incredibles." For ages 17 and under.

 

+ 1:00-3:30 pm | Arbor Hill/West Hill Branch

Create a superhero mask, enjoy snacks, and watch "Thor: Ragnarok" on the big screen. For all ages.


 

+ 1:00-4:00 pm | Bach Branch

Make your own comic book. For all ages.

Craft 8-bit superheroes out of sticky notes. For ages 9-15.
