In Conclusion ...

"Following short-term miniscleral contact lens wear, significant total tissue thinning was observed across the four quadrants of the anterior segment, with the greatest compression observed in the superior quadrant. This compression appears to occur primarily in the conjunctival/episcleral tissue."

-D. Alonso-Caneiro, et al.,
Morphological changes in the conjunctiva, episcleral and sclera following short-term miniscleral contact lens wear in rigid lens neophytes, Contact Lens & Anterior Eye (2015)

Ask A Scleral Lens Visionary

Membership & Fellowship
How do I get my name listed in the Fitters section of the website?

Membership allows contact lens fitters access to the practitioner's section of the website that contains scleral lens fitting resources.

One of the more common questions we get from members, via the website "Contact Us" or the SLS email ([email protected]) is "How do I get my name listed in the Fitters section of the website?"

Optometrists, ophthalmologists, and Fellows of the Contact Lens Society of America (FCLSA) who have proven themselves in the field of scleral lens fitting can apply for status as a Fellow of the Scleral Lens Education Society.

Fellows have submitted a total of three case reports, publications, or presentations and had the submissions approved by the Fellowship Committee. The current Fellowship Chair is Pam Satjawatcharaphong. Detailed instructions are found in the "Practitioners" section of the SLS website.
