It's April in Atlanta, and that means all sorts of activities for Scouts, Venturers and Explorers! Kickoff your year at the Program Kickoff and join the Atlanta Braves for the first Scout Day game of the season. Summer's just around the corner too, so don't forget to sign up for STEM Academy, Summer Camp or Day Camp!
Imagine a world where more people are committed to keeping kids safe. The BSA is serious about fighting child abuse, and you are an important part of that fight.

The BSA has announced bold, wide-ranging updates to its Youth Protection program as part of an ongoing effort to protect young people from child abuse.

This starts with an enhanced online Youth Protection training course all volunteers and professionals must complete.

Scout leaders who took the previous version of Youth Protection training have been asked to log into My.Scouting.org and complete the updated Youth Protection course by Oct. 1, 2018.

Thank you for joining alongside thousands of other adult volunteers in Metro-Atlanta to help keep children safe in Scouting and throughout our communities.
The Program Kickoff is likely the most important meeting you will attend this year. It's geared towards new leaders who want to learn how to put on an Ideal Year of Scouting programs. At this event, we will distribute the new 2018-2019 Council Program Calendar, deliver sessions on key elements to a strong and safe unit program from experienced volunteer leaders, and provide answers to all your Scouting questions and concerns. The Program Kickoff is a FREE event, but you must register to receive a free embroidered travel blanket. Only the first 400 participants will receive this year’s leader gift so don't wait - register today!
Join your Atlanta Braves for two of America's favorite pastimes: Boy Scouts and Baseball! Come cheer on the Braves as they take on the New York Mets on Scout Day. All Scouts in attendance will receive a commemorative patch. Patches can be picked up at the Guest Relations booth near section 111. Arrive early and participate in the pre-game parade around the field.
Have you ever wondered what makes a roller coaster stay on the tracks of an inverted loop? Or how electricity instantly turns on your lights even though the power plant is miles away?

This summer, 70 students will get the chance to explore questions like these by working hand-on with some of Atlanta’s top engineers and STEM professionals. The 2018 STEM Exploring and Engineering Academy is a once-in-a-lifetime experience for 9th-12th graders to live on the Georgia Tech campus and get behind the scenes access to more than 30 Atlanta-area companies. There is limited space remaining, so sign up today!
The Atlanta Area Council would like to invite the 2017/2018 Eagle Scout Class, their families, Scoutmasters, and leaders to attend the Council Eagle Scout Recognition Ceremony on Saturday, June 9, 2018. The event will be conducted at the Rialto Center for the Arts at Georgia State University.

This ceremony will prove to be a highlight you and your family will not want to miss. This event is provided free of charge to our Eagle Scouts, their families, and leaders due to the generosity of our sponsors. The Eagle Scout Recognition Ceremony recognizes the young men of the Atlanta Area Council that attained the rank of Eagle Scout from June 1, 2017 - June 1, 2018.
