As the sun sets on another successful Summer Camp season it's time to get ready for cooler temperatures and more cool opportunities for Scouting. Here are just a few things you can look forward to in the upcoming Autumn months.
Every year during the Fall the Atlanta Area Council unites in an effort to make sure every boy in Metro-Atlanta has the opportunity to become a Cub Scout. As we enter into this ever important season, we've assembled a set of materials for you to use to promote your unit. Whether you're holding a sign-up night, hosting an open house or just sharing your Scouting experience on social media we have materials to help you bring Scouting to even more youth in your community.
Wood Badge is considered the premier leadership training course for Scout Leaders. Wood Badge for the 21st Century is available to registered leaders of all levels of the Scouting program. Through Wood Badge you will gain valuable tools in listening, communicating, conflict management, project planning and leading change. Every Scout deserves a well-trained leader. Are you that leader? Get Wood Badge trained and you will be. In doing so, you will change not only your life but also the lives of all that you touch.
Join hundreds of your fellow Scouts and Leaders as we cheer on the Braves in their new home: SunTrust Park. Discounted tickets are available, and a portion of each ticket goes back to support our local Scouting program. So bring your friends and family to celebrate Boy Scouts and baseball - two great Atlanta traditions. Be sure to arrive early to take part in the Scout Parade around the field and be the first of your friends to experience SunTrust Park from the players’ point-of-view!
S pooky-Ree -- October, 2017
Spooky-ree is a fall themed weekend filled with a fall festival, creepy-crawly nature show, pumpkin carving and decorating, archery, BBs, s'mores, and a campfire. The highlight of the weekend is the Trick-or-Treating Trail for all Scouts and an extra spooky haunted trail for the older Scouts and adults. Bring out the whole family: Cub Scouts, big brothers and sisters, little brothers and sisters, cousins, etc. Everyone is welcome to come out to camp and enjoy the beautiful fall weather at Bert Adams!
