Exciting News from the Council President

Just wanted to pass along some good news! I had the pleasure of representing the council this morning along with Jeff at a press conference for The Community Foundation of the CSRA along with 38 other local agencies' directors and board presidents. The Georgia-Carolina Council was awarded an $11,500 grant from the Community Foundation to help us continue delivering Scouting programs to the young men at several Boys & Girls Club locations in the area. We are most appreciative of the Foundation's support as well as that of The Augusta National and The Master's Tournament.

A sincere thanks to Jeremy Wilson and his 2015 Friends of Scouting Leadership Dinner committee, including Michael Harley, Emeka Igwilo, Bryan Tuschen, and Sam Tyson for their diligent efforts over the past few weeks and months. Many others, too numerous to name here, are also giving support and leadership to this event behind the scenes, too. Look for updates on this important event in the near future.

COMMISSIONER CORNER

Commissioners,

We are ending another year of growing success. During this year we have added at least 4 new and trained Commissioners, 3-4 District and Roundtable Commissioners and have seen our Commissioner involvement in our units go up. That is all very good news.

We are closing in on Silver Status for the end of the year. Please make that final 2014 push for units visits, encouraging all units to get their paperwork in, and all end of the year new members applications. Please talk with your RT staff and see if there is any way we as a Commissioner Corp can help with the 2015 RT planning.
