Scout's Barbershop Opens Gulch Store, Plans Franklin Location
Scout's Barbershop is coming to the Gulch.

Nashville, TN -- Feb. 28, 2017 -- With two locations already thriving in East Nashville and Sylvan Park, Nashville's favorite neighborhood barbershop will open the doors of its newest home - 811 Gleaves St., in an early-1900s train depot tucked behind Jackalope Brewing and Peg Leg Porker - with an all-day celebration on Sunday, March 12th. The party kicks off at 11 a.m. and runs until 7 p.m., followed by a nighttime performance by Republican Hair

A neighborhood barbershop for men and women of all ages, Scout's has built its reputation on affordable haircuts, southern hospitality, and a thriving community of stylists and customers. Conversation is encouraged. Networking is welcome. And the drinks - including Little Harpeth beer and Barista Parlor coffee - are always free.

Appropriately, complimentary coffee, donuts, and local brews will be available on March 12th, during the Gulch location's grand opening party. Free haircuts will be given throughout the day, as well. To close out the event, Republican Hair - the half-ironic, fully-awesome electro-pop project of local country songwriter Luke Dick - will kick off a headlining performance at 7 p.m. Scout's Barbershop will begin serving whiskey drinks around the same time. "You will dance," affirms barbershop owner Brooke Allison.

With interior walls of the original exposed limestone and century-old brickwork, the Gulch location of Scout's Barbershop will embrace an old hunting lodge theme. Expect lots of taxidermy and cozy atmospherics. Next door, a jazz venue is expected to open later this spring.

Also expected to open in 2017: a fourth Scout's Barbershop location. This time, the shop will expand its operations to the historic town square in Franklin, roughly 30 minutes from Scout's flagship location in East Nashville.

As the company gets ready to grow beyond Nashville's city limits, Scout's Barbershop hasn't forgotten about its hometown. Last October, the shop gave free haircuts to homeless men and women in East Nashville as part of its "Haircuts for Humans" fundraiser, launched in partnership with Republican Hair. All funds raised were given to the Martha O'Bryan Center, a non-profit organization committed to ending poverty in Nashville.
