To Scouting Volunteers, On behalf of the Georgia-Carolina Council Key 3 we felt that it was of the utmost importance that we communicate with you on the news and events of the day from the National Annul Meeting in Atlanta, GA. In remarks from the morning session, Dr. Robert Gates, National President of the Boy Scouts of America stated that the BSA has continued to come under pressure to continue to address Leadership Standards regarding sexual orientation for adult leaders. We felt that it is extremely important that we clarify that there has been NO change to any of the leadership standards at this time. Any comments or reports to the contrary are not accurate. As always we will work to keep you informed in a timely manner. Jeff Schwab Scout Executive/CEO Georgia-Carolina Council Boy Scouts of America |
