Roundtable - Stay informed
Roundtable - Thursday, December 14

Join us for our great night of Scouting at Westlake Hills Presbyterian Church (7127 Bee Caves Road). Fellowship begins at 6:45 PM; our program starts at 7:00 PM sharp, and ends by 8:00 PM.

Breakouts: join the Order of the Arrow (OA) and learn about the organization and their operations, elections and more. We will also be reprising our presentation and discussion about social media and the issues and opportunities that come with using it in your unit.

Training: if you are heading to Winter Camp, and don't yet have your Texas Camps ("in-person") Youth Protection Training, we will be offering this at Roundtable.
Nominate Your Scouting Heroes!

Deadline Extended to December 3!

It is our adult leaders, who give so much all year long, that make Scouting special in the Bee Cave District. This is your opportunity to recognize them for all they do! We are also fortunate to have an opportunity to recognize our youth members who embody the Scouting ideals. Please review the recognition awards below, and be sure to submit your nominations by December 3:
  • Stinger Award (for service to the unit - and need not be a registered leader!)
  • Bronze Bee Award: (for service to the District)
  • District Award of Merit: (for service to the District)
  • Cub Scout and Boy Scout of the Year: (for youth exemplifying their program)
See the BeeCaveDistrict.org/Awards page for more information, nomination forms and more.

Eagle Scout Scholarships

Being an Eagle Scout can carry some weight on college/post-secondary admission forms and scholarship applications. In addition, some scholarships exist for the sole purpose of helping an Eagle Scout further his education.  Eagle Scouts have access to a number of scholarship opportunities.

Don't let the calendar pass you by to check them out! Please visit the Council's Eagle Scholarship page to get more information.

2017 Holiday Eagle Processing

The last day to schedule a verification appointment for Eagle rank applications is December 14th. Eagle applications will be verified up to December 14th.

Scouts may continue to submit their applications for final processing after their board, although these applications may not be processed until after January 1, 2018. As always, the Scouts are considered Eagle Scouts as of their board of review date (just not official until recognized by National).

If Scouts want to have their credentials back in time for a court of honor during the holidays, then they should plan to schedule a board of review and submit their final paperwork to the Fickett Center by November 15th. Final paperwork submitted after November 15th is not guaranteed to be available for pick up until after the first of the year. Since final processing takes 2-3 weeks, we cannot guarantee credentials will arrive back before the holidays to anyone submitting their final paperwork after November 15th.

To be considered as part of the Eagle class of 2017, a Scout must have his board on or before December 31st and submit the signed original application to the Fickett Center for final processing on or before January 12, 2018.
