Scout Sunday, Sabbath and Jumuah
Celebrate the Anniversary of Scouting!

The Boy Scouts of America has designated Sunday, February 4th as Scout Sunday, to help celebrate the Anniversary of Scouting on February 8th. Friday, February 9 is Scout Jumuah, and Saturday February 10 is Scout Sabbath. Show that a  Scout is Reverent  by honoring this special day in your religious institution (and please note that a religious institution is welcomed to choose a different day to better meet the needs of their units and their constituents).

Camporee 2018 Date & Location
Scout Troop & Venture Crew Feedback Needed!

We are currently scheduled to have our Spring Camporee April 6-8 at Camp Green Dickson. Because of Green Dickson's limited activity facilities, we met with Capitol Area Council Leadership about finding a venue offering expanded opportunities for Troop activities.

Lost Pines is not available for use at all this year. However Camp Tahuaya, just south of Belton is available, but it will require a Camporee date change to April 20-22. Camp Tahuaya offers opportunities for Kayaking/Canoeing, Rifle, Shotgun and Black Powder Shooting, Rock Climbing and more! Camp Tahuaya is about 60 miles from the Bee Cave area while Green Dickson is about 90 miles.

Please check with your Troop Calendars ASAP and let us know if changing to April 20-22 works for you. Please email us at with your responses. We need to finalize this decision by the end of this weekend.

  • Every adult who volunteers for a weeklong role is guaranteed a spot for their Scout!
  • Boy Scouts and Venture Scouts are also welcomed as volunteers
