Roundtable - Thursday June 8 

Join us for our great night of Scouting at Westlake Hills Presbyterian Church (7127 Bee Caves Road). Fellowship begins at 6:45 PM; our program starts at 7:00 PM sharp, and ends by 8:00 PM.

Joint Session: electronic online youth registration is coming to our Council! This long-awaited tool will be counting on units to have key information set correctly, and to have a champion inside who understands the process. Come to Roundtable to find out how to help make this part of your successful membership program this year!

Breakout: Webelos Woods planning continues - if you want to have a voice in what Webelos Woods is for YOU then be sure to come to Roundtable and add your efforts to the team! Boy Scout leaders and Cub Scout leaders are both welcome!

Training: Texas Camps Youth Protection Training will be taught as a separate breakout session during Roundtable. If you haven't yet completed this required training for attending summer camp or day camp events, this evening is for you!

This Training is required by the State of Texas for all adult attendees of summer day camp or any long-term camp.

Be sure to get your in-person Youth Protection Training current if you have not yet taken it, or it will be more than two years since your last training at the time of the camping event this summer.

Our last "in-district" training opportunity before summer is during Roundtable at Westlake Hills Presbyterian Church (7127 Bee Cave Rd - Austin 78746), Thursday June 8 at 7:00 PM.

Calling All Popcorn Kernels!

There's changes afoot to make Popcorn an even better fundraising opportunity for your unit: the Take Order phase will come first this year in August, followed by Show and Sell in the Fall!

There's so much more to find out: new products, new Scout tins, easier payments, new commission need to get all the info!

TechLab STEAM Camp This Summer

Did you know that attending a summer camp increases the chance your Scouts will continue in Scouting for another year? Castleton may be full, but it isn't too late to get your Scout into a one-of-a-kind summer day camp! Check out BSA's STEAM camp, TechLab: Rain Forest, at As a collaborative effort between Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and Austin ISD, TechLab is open to anyone 3rd through 9th grade, so your unit members can invite their non-scout friends to enjoy learning about robots, 3D printers, digital media, engineering, electronics, and exploration together! Camp sessions begin the week of June 12, and there are five week-long sessions to choose from. Contact Rosalie Galliver at with any questions.

Webelos Extreme - July 16-19 @ Lost Pines

Webelos Extreme Adventure Camp is designed to give Webelos a taste of the fun they will experience in Boy Scouting. WEAC is four days and three nights at Lost Pines Boy Scout Camp, with all campers expected to spend the entire time in residence. The program will facilitate Patrol development and stimulate individual growth. Patrol competitions will encourage team spirit, teamwork and FUN!

MEGA Training
Save the Date: Bee Cave Megatraining
Saturday, September 23 at LDS Chapel (Bee Cave Rd)

This annual event has been a hit every year, and the easiest way to help your leaders (both new and continuing) earn their "Trained" patch for their position without having to travel far. Many classes are being planned, with a focus on Cub Scout and Boy Scout Position-Specific Training. Be sure to have your membership materials include this date for your new leaders, or leaders taking on new positions!

Cub Scout Leaders: be sure all your Webelos Scouts and parents have this date penciled in on their calendar. This annual event is the easiest way for all our Webelos Scouts to check out the Boy Scout Troops in our District in one Scoutcraft-filled event! It's time to find out what youth-led adventure really means for the boys, and for Webelos parents to hobnob, nosh and visit with Troop leadership to help their son find the "right" Troop for them.
