Safety First
In order to keep our students safe and as the rainy season progresses, please be reminded of our parking lot safety guidelines:
  • The speed limit is 5 mph.
  • Parents walking children to class should park next to the gym.
  • Cell phones should not be used while driving.
  • Always use the crosswalks.
  • Always follow verbal and hand directions from parking lot attendants.
  • Do not leave running vehicles unattended.
  • Parents must be curbside to pick up. Please do not pick children up from traffic lane.
  • Bikes and scooters must be walked in the parking lot and on campus.

Upcoming Events
Science Festival
Thursday, January 19th,  6:30 - 8:00 p.m. 
A ll families are welcome to attend! The Science Festival is a fantastic event to celebrate science and learning. It will take place directly after the Admission Open House and it is open to the public. 

Seventh Grade students will proudly display their projects and there will be a number of engaging hands-on science activity stations for all ages!

We still need parent volunteers to help us lead the stations and judge the projects. Please  sign-up here  if you can make it.
Parent Education Series: Managing Screen Time
Friday, January 20th,  8:30 - 9:30 a.m., Think Tank
Family Therapist Donna Blethen, MFT
You are invited! Learn the lastest research concerning digital media, the impact of family habits on our children, how and why we use digital media (information/education, connection/belonging, distraction/avoidance, stimulation/entertainment) and how to model well managed screen time. Light Refreshments will be provided. Open discussion to follow for those that can stay.

Reception Celebration for Sea Crest Artists
Wednesday, January 25th, 4:00 - 7:00 p.m.
Coastside Land Trust Gallery (788 Main Street) will feature artwork by Sea Crest School K-5 students. Through exploration of different techniques, art principles and themes, our Art Teacher, Khalid Birdsong, has inspired and challenged our young artists to tell a story with each assignment. 

This year’s show shares these stories in a wonderfully diverse, intriguing and colorful collection of self-portraits, wildlife portraits, coastal landscapes, fantastical scenes and abstract art. Visit the exhibition and support our student artists!
Tea with Tekakwitha

Important Reminders
Preventative Lice Check,  Wednesday, January 11th.  Here are some ways to make sure your child comes prepared: dry hair, no braids, hair clips, or hats. Students with longer hair should come with ponytails or pack a hair tie so they can put hair up after they are checked. Thank you for your help!

K-8 Admission Open House,  Thursday, January 19th,  5:30 - 6:30 p.m. This event provides prospective families with the opportunity to learn about the innovative programs and resources at Sea Crest. Help us spread the word and invite your friends!

Winter Athletics Recognition Assembly,  Friday, January 20th,  8:20 a.m., Kohrs Family Center. Please join us as we recognize our student athletes and their coaches. We are proud of all our players for their dedication and efforts this winter!

New Student Applications  Due Monday, January 23rd by 4:00 p.m. Please utilize your  SchoolAdmin link to apply. Re-enrollment contracts for current students will be distributed electronically in February and are due by  TuesdayFebruary 28th. Book Club,  Tuesday, January 31st, 4:30 - 5:30 p.m.,  Executive Conference Room. We will discuss Richard Weissbourd's The Parents We Mean To Be. Here is a recent article about the author.
