On Tuesday, Kennedy Space Center will see the largest, most powerful rocket launch since NASA's Saturn V in 1973. After a successful test-fire of SpaceX's Falcon Heavy rocket on Jan. 24, billionaire entrepreneur, founder and CEO of SpaceX Elon Musk said via Twitter that his company is "aiming for first flight of Falcon Heavy on Feb. 6 from Apollo launchpad 39A at Cape Kennedy. The Falcon Heavy rocket is outfitted with three boosters, 27 Merlin engines and has 5.1 million pounds of thrust. A successful launch of this rocket could be a major boost for the Hawthorne, Calif.-based company that has scooped up big contracts to deliver satellites to orbit for private companies and the U.S. government — something that once only was awarded to rival firm United Launch Alliance, which is a joint venture rocket company from Lockheed Martin Corp. (NYSE: LMT) and Boeing Co. (NYSE: BA).

Having a larger, more powerful rocket to use could help SpaceX grab even bigger deals it couldn't get before.

The maiden launch of the Falcon Heavy will carry a red Tesla roadster to space. Musk hopes the car will orbit Mars.

The launch is sure to attract many people to Brevard County to see the historic event, who also may spend money at local businesses like hotels, bars, restaurants and shops.

Port Canaveral itself also will see business from the launch, as two of the boosters will land in one of Cape Canaveral Air Force Station's Landing Zones, while the third booster will land on a drone ship and then be transported through Port Canaveral.
