After the event, Blount said,  "Any chance I can get to help other people realize how amazingly fun marching band can be is a chance that I am always happy to take. I look forward to potentially seeing some of those same people at band camp next year."

Position: New Member Representative

Hometown: Levittown, NY

Instrument: Alto Saxophone

During my first year at Stony Brook, I foolishly did not join the Alto Saxophone section of the Spirit of Stony Brook Marching Band. But after a year of hearing so many positives about the band, I made the amazing decision to join.

I am so excited and honored to serve as the New Band Member Representative. As a grateful member of the SOSB, I am so happy to be able to give back to my fellow band members and strive to bring this positive Seawolf experience to others. Click here for the full story.

When looking at prospective colleges as a senior in high school, I made sure any school I considered had a marching band.

The Spirit of Stony Brook Marching Band is different than any other musical group I've been involved in. I previously thought all my college learning would take place in a classroom, but I was wrong. Not only did I improve my musical skills, but I met lifelong friends, learned important professional skills and was encouraged to push myself beyond my comfort zone. Click here for the full story.
